KateCate
Last updated: 30 September 2026
This policy explains how KateCate uses personal information when you visit this website, contact us, create an account or use our music shop.
1. Who to contact
KateCate is the name used for this website and its music activities. For questions about your personal information or to exercise your rights, email katetencate@outlook.com. You can also contact Kate on +31 6 267 53 133 or use our contact page.
2. Information we use and why
- Enquiries: our contact form asks for your first name, last name, email address, phone number and message. We use these details to respond and manage the conversation. For a possible purchase, this may be necessary to take steps at your request before a contract. For other enquiries, our basis is our legitimate interest in answering correspondence. You can email us instead if you prefer not to provide a phone number.
- Customer accounts: registration requires an email address and password. We use account details to provide sign-in, account administration and access to relevant order information. This processing is necessary to provide the account service you request; related security processing serves our legitimate interest in protecting accounts. Please keep your password private.
- Orders and support: when you place an order, we use the contact, billing, order, payment-status and download information needed to process it, provide the purchased music and help with problems. The bases are performance of the purchase contract and applicable legal recordkeeping obligations. Necessary records may also be used for our legitimate interest in resolving disputes or preventing misuse.
- Website operation: requests to the website disclose technical information such as an IP address, browser details, requested pages and request times to the systems serving the site. This supports delivery, troubleshooting and security. Necessary processing is based on our legitimate interest in operating and protecting the website.
- Visit and order attribution: WooCommerce records referral sources, campaign tags in links, entry pages, session information and browser details to help explain how visitors reach the shop and relate visits to orders. Consent is required for optional cookies where applicable.
Information needed to answer an enquiry or fulfil an order must be provided for that service to work. Please do not include sensitive information that is unrelated to your request.
3. Cookies and your choices
The site uses cookies and similar browser storage for sessions, login, shopping-cart functions and privacy preferences. The server issues a session cookie named PHPSESSID and a short-lived cookie named total_page, which expires after up to two hours. WooCommerce also uses cookies beginning with sbjs_ for visit and order attribution. CookieYes stores cookie preferences; its current preference setting is up to one year.
You can use the cookie banner and its preference control to express or change your choices. You can also inspect, block or remove cookies through your browser. Blocking necessary cookies can prevent login or cart functions from working. Cookie choices do not prevent all external resource requests described below.
4. Service providers and external resources
Information is handled through the website’s hosting and administration systems and the email services used for correspondence. Authorised people administering the website or responding to you may access information needed for those tasks. Where a payment method is offered, the provider involved in that method receives the information necessary to handle the payment. Its own privacy information also applies.
Pages load fonts from Google Fonts and a stylesheet from the unpkg content delivery service. Your browser contacts these services directly, sharing technical request information such as your IP address and browser details. These services may process information outside the European Economic Area. See Google’s Privacy Policy for information about Google’s handling of data. Contact KateCate if you need more information about a provider or the arrangements applicable to your information.
We may disclose relevant records where necessary to meet a legal obligation or establish, exercise or defend a legal claim. Links to other websites lead to services governed by their own privacy practices.
5. How long information is kept
Retention depends on the purpose. Enquiries are kept for handling and relevant follow-up. Account information is kept while the account is in use and, where necessary, to resolve related issues after closure. Order records are kept for fulfilment, support and applicable accounting or legal requirements. Technical records are kept according to operational and security needs. Cookie lifetimes depend on their function and your browser settings.
A request to delete an account does not necessarily remove records that must still be retained by law or for a valid legal claim. Contact us to ask about the retention or deletion of your particular information.
6. Your rights
Subject to the conditions in data protection law, you may request access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction of use or a portable copy. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time; this does not invalidate earlier processing.
Send requests to katetencate@outlook.com. We normally respond within one month. Where a lawful extension is necessary, we will inform you within that month and explain why. We may need proportionate information to confirm your identity before disclosing or changing records. You may also complain to your local data protection authority or the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
7. Updates
We may update this policy when the website or its processing changes. The date above identifies this version. Our Terms & Conditions explain the use of the website and music purchases.
